James H. Marsee

Oswego

James H. Marsee, 91, of rural Oswego, passed away the morning of Thursday, October 31, 2024, at his home.

James Homer Marsee was born on August 18, 1933, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, raised by Grandville and Julie (Crawford) Minton.

He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.  Most of his career, James was a truck driver.  In earlier years, he had worked as a shrimper and a heavy equipment operator.  He truly enjoyed his work whether it be fishing, running heavy equipment, trucking, or driving an ice cream truck.

While living in Hudson, Florida, he was a member of the Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed raising horses over the years and playing the lottery.

Survivors include:

His wife – Judy Marie (Booth) Marsee, of the home

Daughter – Tammy Rine of Oswego, Kansas

Son-in-law – Jeff Rine of Oswego, Kansas

Four grandchildren – Jeffery Rine, Meagan Smith (Michael), Aleia Rine, and Heather Cholakis

12 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his son, Rayme Marsee; and grandson-in-law, Jason Cholakis.

Cremation is under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.  There will be a service at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Veterans Administration.  These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS  67357.
