James A. McGlothlin, 50, of Parsons, died early Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015 at his home. He was born September 28, 1964 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to James Wayne and Diana Jean (Brownswell) McGlothlin. He grew up and attended schools in Abingdon, Illinois and later earned an Associate degree at Labette Community College in Parsons. James was currently employed at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a respiratory therapist. He loved his grandson. James enjoyed classic cars, piddling in the garage, his Harley Street Glide, painting cars, and spending time with his dogs, Max and K.C. On October 28, 1989, he and Sheri Edwards were married in Olathe, Kansas. She survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include: One Daughter – Amber N. McGlothlin Murrieta, CA Two Stepdaughters – Heather Carlstead Ft. Walton Beach, FL Andrea Carlstead Erie, KS One Grandson – Jespen McLaughlin Erie, KS Mother – Diana J. McGlothlin Galesburg, IL Four Sisters – Teresa Nelson Altona, IL Melanie Gray St. Augustine, IL Patty Smith Galesburg, IL Shari Nagle Abingdon, IL Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews He was preceded in death by his father, James W. McGlothlin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home, 206 N. Washington Street, Abingdon, IL. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time, on Saturday, at the funeral home. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
