James D. Merrill, 51, of Parsons, died from injuries sustained in a one vehicle automobile accident near Parsons on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
He was born November 19, 1963 in Parsons, Kansas to James G. and Charlotte A. (Farran) Merrill. He grew up and attended school in Parsons and was a 1982 graduate of Parsons High School.
He most recently had worked as a personal care attendant at SKIL (Southeast Kansas Independent Living). He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, reading, and cooking. He also loved animals.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Merrill, of the home; two sisters, Carol Merrill and Lisa Merrill, both of Parsons; two nephews, Steven Merrill and Anthony Lee; and two nieces, Haley Riley and Olivia "Sweet Pea" Lee.
He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Merrill on June 17, 2011; and one brother, Nick Merrill, in 1983.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. No services are planned at this time.
