James D. Singleton, 54, of Chetopa, died at 5:50 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Chetopa Manor. He had been in failing health.
He was born March 25, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to George Edward and Fern (Noble) Singleton. Following high school graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1977-1981.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Dart Transit Company in Eagan, Minnesota. He then lived in Northport, Alabama before moving to Chetopa where he had lived the past five years.
He and Marie Dunn were married. She preceded him in death.

One Brother – Donald Singleton Chetopa, KS
One Sister – Joyce Kleindl Minnesota
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
His body has been donated to science. The Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa is in charge of arrangements.
