Janice A. (Dixon) Pape

February 12, 1951 — October 19, 2006

Janice A. (Dixon) Pape, 55, formerly of Altamont, died at 5:08 p.m., October 19, 2006 at her home in Chanute. She had been in failing health.

She was born February 12, 1951 in Parsons to Lyle Raymond and Wilma Katherine (Britting) Dixon. She grew up and attended schools in Altamont where she graduated from Labette County High School in 1969.

She married David Albert Pape, Sr. in Oswego, Kansas. They later divorced. She reared her four children in rural Oswego
for 17 years. She worked as a nurse's aid in area nursing homes for a number of years before moving to Chanute in 1992 to
be closer to her dialysis treatment center. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and working with crafts. She especially cherished
spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altamont.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
