Jarilyn J. Hess, 78, of rural Altamont, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her home.
She was born September 3, 1937 in Drummond, Oklahoma to Victor Leroy and Adrian (Kitchen) Brown. She grew up and attended school in Cherokee, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school.
On June 1, 1956, she and Walter Lee Hess were married in Cherokee, Oklahoma. In 1961, they moved to Kansas where they lived at Riverton until 1968. At that time, they moved to rural Altamont where she had lived since.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, playing pitch, and other table games. In the past she had attended the First Baptist Church and the Western Way Cowboy Church.

One Brother – Bill Brown Strang, OK
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Hess, on October 12, 2003; one son, Rocky Hess in 1960; and one brother, Jack Brown.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Mennonite Cemetery in Manchester, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Saturday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
