Jeanette E. Albertson

Jeanette Albertson, 73, of Parsons, died at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Center where she had resided since February 2006.


She was born February 28, 1934, in Parsons, to Carlos E. and Opal L. (Rook) Daniels. As a young girl, she attended schools in Parsons.

In 1954, she moved to Plymouth, Michigan. Upon her return to Parsons, in 1955, she worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center for 22 years. She then moved to Topeka where she was employed by the Kansas Neurological Institute and the Shawnee County Corrections Department as a licensed mental health technician. She retired on July 1, 1994, after 37 years of public service.

She and Robert J. Albertson were married in November 1954. They later divorced.

Following retirement and her return to Parsons, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her dog, Duke. She was a member of the Parsons State Hospital Retiree Group and a life member of the Kansas Psychiatric Aide Association.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Dennis. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, until service time, at the funeral home.
