Jeanette Wolken, 82, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab in Baldwin City, Kansas.
Jeanette Van Leeuwen was born the ninth of ten children to Jake and Bertha (Jennings) Van Leeuwen on December 12, 1937, in St. Paul. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in St. Paul, graduating from high school there in 1955. On October 3, 1959, she and Louis Wolken were united in marriage in St. Paul. The couple raised their family on a farm in the Greeley area. She was a dedicated and faithful member of St. John Catholic Church in Greeley.

Three daughters – Jane Campbell (Craig) of Fort Scott, Kansas
Eileen Bertels (Bill Jewell) of Mayetta, Kansas
Sharon Mader (Alan) of Baldwin City, Kansas
One son – Jim Wolken (Kelli) of Greeley, Kansas
Thirteen grandchildren – Brett, Trevor and Jenna Campbell; Eric Bertels; Beth Hughes; Seth and Tyler Wolken; Grace Mader; and Wesley, Bailey, Briley, Gavin and Teagan Wolken
Nine great-grandchildren
Two sisters – Sr. Rosina Van Leeuwen of Wichita, Kansas
Judy Fager of Erie, Kansas
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis, on March 7, 2013; son, Gus, on October 31, 2014; grandson, Ryan Campbell, on February 1, 2002; three brothers, Roger, Ted and Harry Van Leeuwen; and four sisters, Jerry Hill, Cleo Jacquinot, Jeanie LaForge, and Gert Forbes.
The rosary was prayed and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John Catholic Church in Greeley. Burial was at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Greeley, Kansas.
