W. Jeanne (Burgess) St. Clair, 87, of Parsons, died at 1:40 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born December 9, 1920, in Iola, Kansas, the youngest of twelve children, to Richard Carl and Olive Jeanette (Chalfant) Burgess. As a young girl, she grew up in Iola where she attended schools and graduated from Iola High School.
She and Charles Lee St. Clair were married May 24, 1941, in Nevada, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 18, 1975.
In 1965, she moved to Parsons where she had lived since. For a time, she worked as an Avon sales representative. For over 20 years, she was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed crafts, playing cards, fishing and attending activities at the Sr. Citizen Center. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and in younger years, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Two Great-Great-Grandchildren
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2008, at Highland Cemetery in Iola. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
