Jerry L. Schnoebelen, 71, of Parsons died at 8:26 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.
He was born October 18, 1937, in Lamar, Missouri, to Zeno and Ora (Lowe) Schnoebelen. He grew up and attended schools there before joining the United States Marines.
Following his discharge, he moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked for the Boeing and Beech Aircraft Companies. He later moved to Mound Valley. While living in Mound Valley, he worked at Helio Aircraft in Pittsburg and later for Jensen Brothers in Coffeyville. He also lived in Chetopa and Oswego before moving to the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.
He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, woodworking, and his German shepherds.
Survivors:
Two sons – Calvin Schnoebelen and his wife Starla Parsons, Ks Mike Schnoebelen and his wife Crystal Cherryvale, Ks
One Daughter – Jerri Davis and her husband Eddie Lamar, Mo.
Five Grandchildren – Judson Davis and his wife Dawn, Jenica Davis, and Jerron Davis all of Lamar, Missouri
Tara Troester and her husband Josh of Webb City, Missouri
Ryan Schnoebelen of Cherryvale, Kansas
Two Great-grandchildren – Dalton and Kenna Davis of Lamar, Missouri
An infant brother preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Konantz –Warden Funeral Home in Lamar prior to the funeral.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Leukemia Foundation. These may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
