Jesse T. "Mick" Tucker, 73, of Parsons, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2017 at his home.
He was born December 31, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to Wilmer Ardell and
Marjorie Ann (Decker) Tucker. He later moved with his mother and step-father Sam Bono to Florissant, Missouri where he grew up and attended schools.
In 1966, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He received his honorable discharge in 1968. Following his discharge, he worked in sales for three years before opening his own business, Mick's Auto Trim and Restoration. In 1975, he began his 20 year career working for the Labette County Sheriff's department. Mick served as a Deputy Sheriff, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant Detective, and from 1982 until 1995 he served as Undersheriff. He then worked for two years as the Chief Investigator for the Capital Coordinator's Office in Topeka. In 1997, he established M.A.T. Enterprises and operated All Store, Discount America, Sweet & Treats plus Osage Tactical.
Mr. Tucker was a Municipal Court Judge for the cities of Mound Valley and Edna from 1982 to 2004. He also was an instructor and advisor for the Criminal Justice Program at Labette Community College in Parsons from 1985 to 1996. He served on the Three Mile Zoning Board for Labette County from 1980 to 1986, and was a trustee on the North Township Board from 1979 to 2001.
Mick enjoyed fishing and helped organize the Bass and Badges fishing tournaments. He enjoyed woodworking and carving. He belonged to the Parsons Amateur Woodworking Society and the National Wood Carvers Association. He made Kydex gun holsters and was a member of the Parsons Gun Club. He was a member of the Proud Animal Lovers Shelter, and in earlier years enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping.
He was first married to Evelyn Sue Hamilton. They later divorced. He and Annette (Matson) Olson were married on April 5, 1980 in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Four brothers, Richard Tucker of Pittsburg, Kansas
Chris Bono and his wife Brett of St. Charles, Missouri
Michael Tucker of Cave City, Arkansas
Kelly Tucker of Houston, Texas
One Sister, Sandy Black of San Tan Valley, Arizona
A memorial visitation and celebration of life will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday April 11, 2017 at the Oswego Community Building in Oswego, Kansas with military honors given by the Brown-Bishop Post #704 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
