Jo Ann L. Robinson, 80, of Parsons, died early Thursday morning, August 7, 2014 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born January 26, 1934 in Oswego, Kansas to Waldo D. and Agusta L. (Ochsenbein) Cormeny. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Oswego.
On July 2, 1950, she and M. D. "Curly" Robinson were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In 1951, they moved to Parsons where he was employed by the M-K-T Railroad. While living in Parsons, she worked as a seamstress at Fred Ronald Manufacturing for 30 years and at Broderick's for ten years. In 1998, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where he continued his employment with the Union Pacific Railroad. Following his retirement in 1992, the couple returned to Parsons.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. Jo Ann enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Ron Robinson and his wife, Theresa, of Mound Valley, KS; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Lewis, of Chanute, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, "Curly" Robinson, on March 10, 2010; two brothers, Robert and David Cormeny; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe Nichelle Robinson.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. Mrs. Robinson will be buried next to her husband in the Abbey. Friends may call at their convenience from 2-8:00 p.m., on Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
