Jo D. Sullivan

Jo D. Sullivan, 76, of Parsons, and formerly of Erie, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Parsons.

She was born March 25, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Ray and Dorothy Lee (Suthard) Hudson. She grew up and attended school in the Claremore and Adair, Oklahoma areas.

On November 22, 1966, she and Jerry E. Sullivan were married at the Tulsa Baptist Temple in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following marriage, the couple lived in Tulsa until moving to Erie in 1971. The Sullivan's owned and operated Sullivan Furniture Store for over 41 years. The store was first located in Erie and later in Parsons until its closing in 2017.

She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Chanute. Jo was an artist who especially enjoyed oil painting. She also loved flower gardening, bird-watching, and nature. Jo always found beauty in the simple things of life.

One Son – Mike Sullivan of Erie, KS

One Daughter – Jenny Ray and her husband, Damien, of Chippewa Falls, WI

Six Grandchildren

Three Great-Grandchildren and one "on the way"

One Sister – Billy Ragsdale and her husband, Darrell, of Pryor, OK

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry Sullivan, on February 23, 2017; and one son, Randy Sullivan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
