Joan E. Haven, 86, of Chetopa, Kansas, passed away at 1:37 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Chetopa Manor Nursing Home in Chetopa.
On June 10, 1933, Joan Elizabeth Roberts was born to Leonard and Grace (Barton) Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joan grew up and attended school in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
After Joan and Charles E. Haven were married in Tulsa on February 20, 1951, the couple moved and made a home in Chetopa. She earned an Associate's degree in Art from Labette Community College. Throughout the years, Joan was a homemaker and also worked at a number of places including Lee Garment Factory, Casey's, and in the cafeteria at Chetopa schools and Chetopa Manor.
Joan was a member of the Timberhill Church of God. As her daughters were growing up, she was a Girl Scout Leader. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and painting.

Teresa Barnes of Chetopa, Kansas
Penny McGill of Yorba Linda, California
Eight Grandchildren
Fourteen Great-Grandchildren
Six Great-Great Grandchildren
One Brother – Sonny Roberts of Bristow, Oklahoma
Two Sisters – Linda Powers of Catoosa, Oklahoma
Sally Cole of Grand Lake, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on May 29, 2013; her parents, two brothers; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be at a later date at Lake Creek Cemetery in Bartlett. Services are under the direction of Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa.
