John L. Bartlett, 86, of Parsons, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Parsons Presbyterian Manor.
He was born September 22, 1931 in Ladue, Missouri to Garland Ross and Mildred Beatrice (Bramell) Bartlett. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Clinton, Missouri. He then attended Drury University in Springfield, Missouri and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Throughout his adult life, John worked as a minister in Disciples of Christ churches until retiring at St. Francis, Kansas.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, remodeling his home, and stained glass work. In earlier years, he was a member of the Rotary.
On June 24, 1949, he and Shirley Sieleman were married in Clinton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2005.

One Son – Jay Bartlett and his wife, Margie of Springfield, MO
Two Daughters – Rebecca Wiley-Dranchak and her husband, John of Parsons, KS
Karissa Wilhoft of Parsons, KS
Son-in-law – Roger and Teresa Moore of rural St. Francis, KS
Twelve Grandchildren
Sixteen Great-Grandchildren
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Pete Bartlett; one daughter, Chelly Moore; and a son-in-law, Steve Wilhoft.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the First Christian Church in St. Francis, Kansas. Burial will be at Clough Valley Cemetery in rural St. Francis. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
