John P. Lucke, 63, of Parsons, died at 10:48 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2011, at Labette Health in Parsons.
He was born in Chanute, Kansas to Howard and Edna (McGowan) Lucke. As a young boy he grew up in Erie and attended schools in both Erie and Parsons. Through the years, he worked as a carpenter and had assisted with farm work.
He had attended the Methodist church and was an associate member of the George L. Hendricks Post No. 102, American Legion, in Erie. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, drag races and model cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lucke, May 18, 1970; his mother, Edna Lucke, August 23, 2002; three sisters, Mary Samson, February 12, 2007; and infants, Virginia and Patsy Lucke.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
