John R. Pranker, 54, of Parsons, died early Sunday, October 10, 2010, at his home.
He was born September 9, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Edward Pranker, Jr. and Jessie Mary (Parmentier) Pranker. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Ash Grove, Missouri. Shortly after finishing school, he moved to Kansas where he had lived since.
Through the years he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed country scenery, fishing, working on cars, spending time with family and friends, and was a biker at heart. He was raised as a Catholic.
He and Patty Midgett were married January 6, 1979, in Steelville, Missouri. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be in Tibbets Cemetery in Oswego. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
