Johnnie V. Law, 72, of Parsons, died at 7:03 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons. He had been in failing health.
He was born December 12, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Frank and Maggie (Head) Law. He grew up in Shreveport where he attended school and later earned a Bachelor's degree from Grambling State University.
He lived in New Mexico and Arizona prior to moving to Parsons in 1964. While living in Parsons, he worked for the M-K-T Railroad and then as a guard at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. He retired from the KAAP following 33 years of service.
He enjoyed rebuilding old cars and spending time with his family.
He and Marva Pierce were married November 3, 1967 in Parsons. She preceded him in death December 22, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Elm Haven East Activity Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
