Johnny S. "John" Canada, 80, of Chetopa, passed away at 5:38 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2020, at Labette Health.

Johnny Shephard Canada was born on December 12, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a young man, he settled in Overland Park, Kansas, and worked as a welder. In 1969, he moved to Chetopa. Throughout his career, he was an over-the-road truck driver for several companies.

The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

On January 14, 1966, John and Lucile (Johnson) Dye were united in marriage in Overland Park, Kansas. She survives of the home.

Three sons – Johnny Canada of Parsons, Kansas

Jerry Dye of Chetopa, Kansas

Steve Dye of Galena, Kansas

Two daughters – Freda Conard of Chetopa, Kansas

Paula Adler of Chetopa, Kansas

Seven grandchildren – Laken McKenzie, Riley Conard, Chelsea Adler, Colten Adler, Kayla Canada, Brittni Canada, & Rachel Canada

Four great grandchildren – Crosley McKinzie, Callie Conard, Bailey Ann Cook, and Bryson Cook

One brother – Leroy Canada of Grand Junction, Colorado

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Alan Canada.

A private family service has taken place.  Services are under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Chetopa.

The family has requested no flowers be sent.
