Joseph T. "Joe" Giefer, 84, a longtime barber formerly of Parsons, died at 9:01 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2013, in the Emergency Room at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Giefer, on March 22, 2008.
Survivors include:
Three Sons – Joseph T. Giefer, Jr. and his wife, Patricia Oak Grove, MO
Michael Giefer and his wife, Peggy Seymour, IN
Chris Giefer and his wife, Lisa Olathe, KS
Three Daughters – Regina Tredway and her husband, Nick Shreveport, LA
Teresa Arratia and her companion, Roy Rachal Natchitoches, LA
Lisa Mailes and her husband, Bryan Harrisonville, MO
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick's School Endowment Fund. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
