Josephine E. O'Hara, 85, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died at 10:15 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons, following a brief illness.

She was born October 19, 1921, in Parsons, to Bernard J. "Barney" and Marie (Hellen) O'Hara. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons graduating from St. Patrick's High School and Parsons Business College. Through the years, she worked at various businesses in Parsons including Labette Community College where she was an administrative assistant.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, its Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and AARP. She loved to play bingo, watch sports on television and flower gardening. She also enjoyed making fudge and was an avid reader. Josephine was a caring and kind person with a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends following the Rosary.
