Joshua W. "Josh" Traxson, 29, of Altamont, died early Sunday morning, August 14, 2011.
He was born February 15, 1982, in Joplin, Missouri to Charles "Scott" and Cindy K. (Davidson) Traxson. He grew up and attended schools in Altamont and was a graduate of Labette County High School.
He had attended the United Methodist Church in Altamont. Josh was an accomplished golfer and had received various golfing awards through the years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and rock engraving.
Survivors include:
Father – Scott Traxson Altamont, KS
Mother – Cindy Traxson Altamont, KS
One Sister – Jenny Stewart and her husband, Jerry Altamont, KS
One Nephew – Zack
Three Nieces – Kelsie, Aubree and Haleigh
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, F.G. Traxson, Helen (Todd) Traxson, Denzil Davidson, and Doris (Stevens) Davidson; and Aunt Peggy (Davidson) Palmer.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. Casual dress for the service is requested. KC Chiefs/ KU Jayhawk attire would be wonderful, as Josh was a big fan of both.
Memorials are suggested to the Parsons State Hospital Endowment Association for programs to assist Autistic children in Southeast Kansas. These may be left at or mailed to Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 325, Altamont, KS 67330.
