Joy Lindeberg

November 16, 1947 — July 8, 2011

Joy Y. Lindeberg, 63, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died at 1:33 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2011, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born November 16, 1947, in Parsons, Kansas, to Obed B. and Reta M. (Van Houten) Cramer.  She grew up and attended schools in Parsons where she was a 1965 graduate of Parsons High School and later earned an Associate degree from Labette Community College.

She served in the United States Army Reserves four years.  In 1989, she began working at Wal-Mart and in 2008 became a pharmacy technician at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons, FCE Morning Glory extension group, and United Way where she had served as board member for numerous years.  Joy especially enjoyed doing volunteer work at her church and being involved in community activities.

She and Johnny Paulson were married in April of 1966.  They later divorced.  She and Roy Lindeberg were married November 10, 1981, in Parsons.  He survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: Two Sons – Michael A. Paulson and wife, Diana of Rockford, IL and Russell W. Paulson and wife, LeAnne of Rockford, IL; One Stepdaughter – Kathy A. Lindeberg of Parsons, KS; Five Grandchildren – Carlea' Ann Brothers; Matt and Megan Gabel; Jessica Lewandowski and Alec Smith; One Great-Granddaughter – MiKayla Cheer; Two Brothers – John M. Cramer and wife, Cindy   of Manhattan, KS and C. Dean Cramer and wife, Peggy of Parsons, KS

She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepson, Bryan Lindeberg.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2011, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons.  Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Parsons, the Kansas District LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League), or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.  These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
