Joyce Barnes, 94, of Erie, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:37 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her home.
She was born August 13, 1918 in Ames, Oklahoma to Martin Franklin and Freda (Jones) Klingenberg. She grew up and attended school in Enid and was a graduate of Enid High School.
On June 1, 1941, she and Carl Lloyd Barnes were married in Enid. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1974. In the late 1970's, Joyce moved to Erie where she had lived since. For many years, she cared for children in her home and was fondly called "Grandma" by all who knew her.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Erie. Joyce was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and playing dominoes.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters, and a great-great-granddaughter, Jazmine Grace Clements.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Temple Baptist Church in Erie. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery near Erie. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
