Joyce D. McMunn, 54, of rural Parsons, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 7:20 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at her home following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
She was born April 25, 1962 in Independence, Kansas to Dwayne Edward and Florence Ann (Walborn) Williams. As a young girl, Joyce attended Independence Grade School and later moved with her family to Cherryvale where she graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1980. She attended Independence Community College and in 2002 earned an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from Labette Community College.
On April 24, 1982, she and Ronald D. "Ron" McMunn were married at the Church of Christ in Coffeyville. Following marriage, they lived briefly in Altamont before moving in 1984 to their current home in rural Parsons.
She worked at the Jim Halsey Company in Independence and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office in Altamont for several years. She then worked at Curves Fitness, Pete's Corporation, was director of The Rock Youth Center in Parsons, and most recently at The Mustard Seed until retiring due to ill health.
She was an active member of Center Bethel Church where she served as youth group sponsor for several years. She was also coordinator and co-owner of The Cedar Tree Barn, a wedding and event venue in Southeast Kansas. She was an avid junker and repurposer and enjoyed photography. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dwayne Williams, on November 26, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Center Bethel Church in rural Parsons. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to Center Bethel Youth Group. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
