Judy C. Arabia

Judy C. Arabia, 66, of Parsons, died at 3:53 a.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Labette Health in Parsons. She was born September 10, 1945 in Parsons, Kansas to Carl Allen and Myrtle (Whinery) Shue. As a young girl, she grew up in Galesburg and later moved to Parsons where she was a 1963 graduate of Parsons High School. On August 24, 1963, she and John A. Arabia were married at the Central Avenue Christian Church in Parsons. From 1963-1966, the couple lived in Pittsburg, Kansas before moving to Joliet, Illinois where they lived until 1972. They then moved to Colorado Springs, then southern California until 1977, and finally northern California before returning to Parsons in 2005. She was a former member of the Central Avenue Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, shooting machine guns, and was an advocate for handicapped rights. Survivors include: Husband – John A. Arabia of the home Mother – Myrtle Shue Parsons, KS Two Sons – John Arabia and wife, Nicole Vacaville, CA Jeff Arabia and wife, Patti Fairfield, CA Former Daughter-in-law – Lisa Aston Vacaville, CA Eight Grandchildren One Brother – Rev. Claude Shue, who is currently serving in Afghanistan, and his wife, Mary, of Kingfisher, OK One Sister – Debbie Gordon and husband, Kevin Welch, OK She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Shue; and one brother, Leroy Shue. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Parsons and officiated by her brother, Rev. Claude Shue. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
