Julia Pennington, 54, of Chetopa, passed away at 12:40 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

She was born August 18, 1962 in Westminster, California to Edward and Amy (Moore) Baugh. While her father was serving in the United States Marines, she lived in various places with her family while growing up.

In the 1980's, she moved to Chetopa where she worked at Frontier Charcoal Division of Packing for several years as a warehouse supervisor. Julia also worked as a cook at the Buckboard Café and most recently as a dietary cook at Oswego Community Hospital. She retired in May of 2016 due to illness.

She attended the Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. Julia enjoyed spending time with her family, singing, and fishing.

She and James E. Pennington were married in Miami, Oklahoma. He survives.

One Sister – Karla McKinney Lubbock, TX
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nicole Baugh.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
