Julianne "Annie" Hicks

Julianne "Annie" Hicks, 42, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016.

She was born February 26, 1974 in Holton, Kansas to Donald E. and Julianne (Daley) Hicks. In 1975, she moved to Parsons with her family where she attended Parsons Catholic School and was a 1992 graduate of Parsons High School.

In earlier years, Annie worked at Community Living Opportunities in Lawrence as an adult care provider. She was currently employed by the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center where she was fondly known as "The Lunch Lady."

Annie was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing her talent with others. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at "The Round Table." She highly valued her many friendships and will be lovingly remembered for her infectious laugh and her gift to always be there for others.

Father – Don Hicks and his wife, Cindy Parsons, KS

One Brother – John Hicks and his wife, Tiffany Parsons, KS
Two Sisters – Terri Jacobson and companion, Scott Hedrick Lawrence, KS
Laura Cruse Parsons, KS

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charley Stevenson, on September 16, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
