June Carolyn Brown, 73, of Chetopa, Kansas, died at 6:35 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2010, at Chetopa Manor.
She was born March 5, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to June and Casey (Prichard) Bourne. She grew up and attended schools in Little Rock where she was a 1955 graduate of Little Rock Central High School.
She and Alfred Earl Brown, Sr. were married March 21, 1956, in Little Rock. The couple owned and operated Aqua Plush Waterbeds in Coffeyville for several years and, in 1973, moved to Chetopa where they have lived since.
She was an active member of the First Church of God in Coffeyville where she served on the Board of Trustees and as Sunday School teacher. She also participated in Women of Church of God (WCG) and, in earlier years, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She enjoyed her pets, painting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2010, at the First Church of God in Coffeyville. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
