June Bryan, 89, of Parsons, died at 1:15 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Parsons Good Samaritan Society. She was born July 8, 1923 in Mt. Hope, Kansas to Jesse and Lizzie Pearl (Hinch) Tafoya. She moved with her family to Neodesha as a child. She and Walter Bryan were married on April 5, 1941 in Cherryvale, Kansas. She worked for a brief time as a waitress while her husband served in World War II. She and Walter made their home on a farm near Neodesha that had been in the family for 103 years. In June of 2008 the couple moved to Parsons. Walter preceded her in death on February 23, 2010. She enjoyed sewing and visiting with family and friends. She also cared for animals, enjoyed watching birds, and growing flowers. She was a member of the Bethel Church of God in Neodesha. Survivors: Two Daughters – Mary Ann Bryan Thayer, KS Frances McGinnes and husband, Bill Parsons, KS Thirteen Grandchildren – Eugene Bryan and wife, Neasha LeaAnne Johnson and husband, Carl Sherri Thurman and husband, Gerold Denna Sandbothe and Donald Scott Alisha Sallee and husband, Kristofer Layton McCoy and wife, Keena Jeffery McCoy Warden Cohee Eddie Cohee Teresa Prather and husband, Keith Jesse McGinnes and wife, Tricia Clinton McGinnes Stoney McGinnes and wife Delynda Thirty-Five Great-Grandchildren Twenty Great-Great-Grandchildren Two Brothers – Bruce Tafoya Clearwater, Kansas Gene Tafoya Altus, Oklahoma One Sister – Joyce Mantzke Joshua, Texas She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Walter Lee and Cherol Bryan, and a daughter Delores June Cohee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012, at the Bethel Church of God in Neodesha. Burial will be in Shelly Cemetery near Neodesha. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
