Katharine A. Fisher, 61, of Parsons, passed away at 1:24 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020, at Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.
Katharine Ann McAfee was born on June 3, 1959, to Harry and Marilyn (DeRenne) McAfee in San Diego, California. Throughout her youth, she grew up and attended schools in various areas while her father served in the U.S. military. After settling in Parsons in 2000, Katharine earned an Associate's degree from Labette Community College, a Bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University and a Master's degree from University of Phoenix. She worked as a Certified Nurse Aide and Certified Medical Assistant at Medical Lodge in Pittsburg.
She attended Foursquare Church in Parsons. While a student at LCC, she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also loved to read and enjoyed stitchery, sewing, doing puzzles, playing games and spending time on the computer.
Survivors include:
Her longtime companion – Albert Campmier, of the home
One son – Jeremy Bradford and his wife, Millisa, of Spring Lake, North Carolina
One daughter – Page Sullivan and her husband, David, of Parsons, Kansas
Four grandchildren – Christopher, Katlynn, Alex and Mikenzie
Her father and step-mother – Harry and Emma Lee McAfee of Jane, Missouri
Three brothers – Joel McAfee of Rogers, Arkansas
Gordon Mann of Clarksville, Tennessee
David McAfee of Weirton, West Virginia
Two sisters – Linda Russell and her husband, Jack, of Pittsburg, Kansas
Bonnie Smith of Pittsburg, Kansas
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
