Katherine J. "Kate" Rimbey

Katherine J. "Kate" Rimbey, 71, of Mound Valley, passed away at 11:06 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.

She was born July 1, 1946 in White Hall, Illinois to Evelyn Irene Looper.  She grew up and attended schools in White Hall where she graduated in 1964 from North Greene High School.

She moved to Kansas in 1984.  On November 6, 1987, she and Dick Rimbey were married in Miami, Oklahoma.  Through the years, Kate worked at Western Publishing in Coffeyville and Dwayne's Photo in Parsons.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mound Valley.  She enjoyed flowers, quilting, and mowing lawns.  Kate was a very giving and compassionate person who was always willing to help anyone in need.

One Daughter – Ronda Carroll and her husband, Roger, of South Coffeyville, OK

Stepchildren – Stacey Albers and her husband, Doug, of Beckemeyer, IL

Brian Rimbey and his wife, Yvette, of Athensville, IL

Anita Ross and her husband, Terry, of Carrollton, IL

Nancy Vetter and her husband, Jason, of Greenfield, IL

Eleven Grandchildren

Several Great-Grandchildren

Two Sisters – Frances Allen of Lincoln, IL

Vicky Allen of Waverly, IL

Sister-in-law - Mildred Watts and her husband, Jim, of Macon, MO

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Memorial visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Mound Valley Christian Church under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
