Katherine "Kat" Lofton, 63, of Parsons, died at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at the Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born August 24, 1948, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Johnnie and Mary Francis (Brown) Jackson. She grew up in Rayville, Louisiana, and attended elementary and high school in Alto, Louisiana.
Through the years, she worked in housekeeping and as a nurse's aide at Highland General Hospital in Pampa, Texas, until retiring due to ill health. In 2009, she moved to Parsons to be near her family.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Parsons. She enjoyed fishing, reading, working puzzles, crocheting, singing, dancing, visiting friends and family, animals, flower arranging and home decorating.
She and Jessie Lofton were married in Pampa, Texas. He survives.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
