Kathleen Hills, 92, of Parsons, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home.
She was born April 7, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas to Edward John and Leona Diantha (Lynch) Bauer. She grew up in Parsons where she attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and was a 1942 graduate of Parsons High School. She later attended Parsons Business College. During World War II, she was active in the local USO.
In early years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Workman Plumbing and after raising their children worked at Switlik Jewelers and Stephen's Women's Wear.
She was a member of the former St. Mary's Catholic Church, now St. Patrick's, its Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a charter member of Coterie. Kathleen especially enjoyed bowling and was an avid bridge player.
On May 10, 1952, she and A.J. "Jim" Hills were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2005.

Thirteen Grandchildren – Katie Hizey and her husband, Sean; Cristine Deibler and her husband, Blake; Erin McKinney and husband, Scott; Ryan Templeton, Drew Hills, Dustin Hills, Nicholas Stuart, Maddie Stuart, Haley Hills, Colby Crum, Carry Crum, Noah Hills and Emma Hills

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Bernard L. Bauer; one sister, Vera Marie Bauer; three infant siblings, and a son-in-law, Tony Templeton.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
