Kathleen A. "Kak" McGowen, 90 of Erie, died at 5:24 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Guest Home Estates in Erie.
She was born April 7, 1919 in Conception Junction, Missouri, to John M. Schoenhofer and Catherine M. (Thomas) Schoenhofer. As a child, she moved with her family to St. Paul where she grew up and attended schools.
She and Manferd "Bus" McGowen were married on April 21, 1940, they were later divorced. She lived in and around Erie all of her adult life.
She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, shopping, bowling, and embroidering.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She also was a member of the Post #102 American Legion Auxiliary of Erie.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery. The rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Church. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.
