Kathleen C. O'Neal, 81, of Parsons, passed away at 8:02 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born April 21, 1935 in Parsons, Kansas to Emanuel B. and Nellie Mae (McNamara) Journot. She grew up in Parsons where she attended school and graduated from St. Patrick's High School. After high school, she worked at Johnson's Café in Parsons.
On October 3, 1953, she and James L. "Jim" O'Neal were married in Parsons. Following marriage, the couple moved to Oregon where she worked as administrative assistant for many years in the school district. In 1985, they returned to Parsons where they made their home.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and had assisted with funeral dinners for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, bowling, traveling, and had volunteered as a "Pink Lady" for the Labette Health Auxiliary. In earlier years, she also enjoyed water skiing and riding motorcycles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" O'Neal, on February 2, 1995.
The funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the rosary at the church.
