Katie C. (Hill) Michels, 31, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Angola, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 12 noon., as the result of a car accident.
Katie Christine Hill was born to David and Denise (Sandusky) Hill on June 18, 1990 in Parsons, Kansas. She grew up in Parsons until 1 st Grade when they moved to rural Angola and there, she attended Edna Grade School. She then attended LCHS where she graduated in 2008. She then attended Pittsburg State University and Labette Community College. She was a member of the Parsons Community Band and the Pittsburg State Marching Band.
She married William A. "Billy" Michels on July 4, 2020. Following their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Missouri.
Since 2018, she worked at All Around Child Day Care in Overland Park, Kansas. She enjoyed painting, cross stitch, role-playing games, was an avid reader, loved music and played the saxophone. Katie loved learning new things; she was an adventurer. She loved her dog, Krypto. Katie was always happy-go-lucky and danced to her own beat.
She attended Center Bethel Church in her earlier years. She was active in Extra Life, a fundraising organization for the Children's Miracle Network.

Father and mother-in-law - Michael and Cathy Kanniainen of Chillicothe, Missouri
Maternal Grandmother - Norma Sandusky of Altamont, Kansas
Brother - Joshua Hill of Lexington, Oklahoma
Sister - Lindsay Waun and her husband, Derick, of Altamont, Kansas
Two nephews - Alick Waun and Jaxon Waun of Altamont, Kansas
Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins
She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Barbara (Carlson) King; maternal grandfather, Vernon Sandusky; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Karene Hill; and cousins, Chance Sandusky and Jessica Rankins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service begins, and then again following the service. A private burial will take place at the Richland Cemetery in Angola.
