Kaye L. Hopkins, 50, of Parsons, passed away at 3:17 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Labette Health.
She was born December 19, 1963 in Parsons, Kansas to Clay W. and Betty L. (Thomas) Hopkins. She grew up and attended school in Parsons.
For several years, Kaye worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and later for SKIL (Southeast Kansas Independent Living) as a personal care attendant. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing arts and crafts, and going to dances.
Survivors include two sons, Coy Hopkins and Eric Hopkins, both of Parsons, KS; one daughter, Bobbi Steig and her husband, Christopher, Cherryvale, KS; fifteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; one brother, Lloyd Malick, Parsons, KS; and three sisters, Becky Ghering, Nowata, OK, Rosetta Wilson, Parsons, KS, and Brenda Lumm, Parsons, KS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clay Hopkins, on April 6, 1988; her mother, Betty Hopkins, on February 24, 2014; two brothers, Harold Hopkins in June of 2000 and infant Jack Hopkins in 1962; and three sisters, Glenna Arie in July of 2000, Melissa Watts in November of 2000, and Kelly Garrett on February 24, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
