Keith E. Bohrer

Keith E. Bohrer, 95, of Arlington, Texas, died at 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at Matlock Place Health and Rehab in Arlington, Texas.

Keith was born April 11, 1917, in Erie, Kansas to George Bohrer and Katie (Otto) Bohrer. He grew up there and graduated from Erie High School in 1935. During World War II, he served in the United States Army in the Western Pacific theater campaigns. Keith, an Army Master Sergeant in the 726th Amphibious Tractor Battalion, was awarded several medals including the American Defense Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal and a World War II Victory Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Erie. He and Margaret Diskin were married on December 26, 1946 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. The couple lived in Lawrence, Kansas while Keith attended the University of Kansas. He received a B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1948. Upon graduation, Keith accepted a position with Skelly Oil Company. After thirty plus years of employment as a Registered Petroleum Engineer, Keith retired while living in Midland, Texas. He and Margaret later moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. In 2001, they moved to Mansfield, Texas to be closer to family. Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a life full of faith and love. Keith had a great sense of humor, loved to read and loved KU basketball.


Survivors:
Three sons, Darrell Bohrer, Ken Bohrer and wife Tammy, and Steve Bohrer and wife Trish; daughter, Pam Brotherton and husband Ralph; and grandchildren, Jason Bohrer and wife Renee, Zane Bohrer, Blake and Lance Brotherton, and great-grandchildren, Cole and Sydney Bohrer, and Jack and Charlie Bohrer; and many other beloved relatives.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Margaret (Diskin) Bohrer and parents, and siblings Irma Bohrer and Kermit Bohrer.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul.

The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m., Friday at the church. The family will receive friends following the Rosary in the St. Francis Parish Hall.

Memorials are suggested to Saint Francis Catholic Church, Saint Paul, Kansas.
