Kenneth R. Cruse, 64, of rural Parsons, passed away Monday morning, July 27, 2015, at his home.
He was born May 29, 1951 in Burbank, California to Kenneth O. and Betty C. (Peterson) Cruse. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Kansas and was a 1970 graduate of Parsons High School.
On February 27, 1972, he and Pamela R. Perez were married at the Church of the Brethren in Parsons. At a young age, he began working in concrete construction with numerous family members. In later years, he worked as a truck driver for Nash Trucking in Altamont and Wichita Southeast Kansas Transit in Parsons. He later worked at Old Dominion Freight Line in Parsons until retiring due to ill health.
He was an active member of the Church of the Brethren in Parsons where he served as a board member for many years and was currently running the sound system. He enjoyed the countryside, listening to music, and being outdoors. In earlier years, he enjoyed coaching youth football while living in Bonner Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Nicholas "Nick" Cruse, on September 14, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery near Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
