Kenneth W. Curnutte, 80, of rural Mound Valley, passed away at 7:45 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his home.
Kenneth Wayne Curnutte was born on December 13, 1942, to Sylvester "Shorty" and Jessie "Hazel" (Hinkle) Curnutte in Labette County, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in rural Labette County, graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1961.
For 45 years, Kenneth worked at Diamond Coach in Oswego. He also raised cattle and hogs and extensive gardens his entire life.
Kenneth was a member of the Christian Church of Mound Valley. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed visiting with his cousins and friends on his phone. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved to coon hunt and fish.
On October 22, 1965, Kenneth and Cheryl Ann Blair were united in marriage in Independence, Kansas. She survives of the home.

One son – Kenneth W. Curnutte, Jr. and his wife, Kyra, of Mound Valley, Kansas
Two daughters – Teresa Perkins and her husband, David, of Mound Valley, Kansas
Kim Pease and her husband, Jeff, of Altamont, Kansas
Five grandchildren – Kassia Bolden, Hunter Green, Haley Green, Kolten Curnutte, and Kade Curnutte
Three great-grandchildren – Blake and Riley Bolden; and Hadley Sutton
One brother – Fred Curnutte and his wife, Barbara, of Altamont, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
