Kenneth Woodward Harries, 59, of McPherson, passed away at 10:39 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021, at his home.
He was born on August 2, 1961, to Donald Lee and Barbara (Reusch) Harries in Topeka, Kansas. At the age of 5, he moved with his family to Wichita, where he attended the Starkey school. When Kenneth was 10, he moved to the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center and lived there for 48 years. In 2020, he moved to Lindsborg and then McPherson to be closer to family.
Being around people and going places were two of Kenneth's favorite things in life. He also enjoyed eating; looking at food magazines; helping cook; being outdoors; fishing; listening to music, especially 70's rock; sitting by the washer and dryer and having a cold beer once in a while.

Three sisters – Chrisdena Vap and her husband, Mark, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska
Teresa Baird and her husband, Brian, of Beaufort, South Carolina
Michele Belden and her husband, Brent, of Lyons, Kansas
One uncle – Terry Harries and his wife, Cheri, of Tracy, California
One aunt – Bonnie Richards of Minden, Nevada
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Harries; one sister, Danielle Clegg; paternal grandparents, Kenneth A. and Wilma L. Harries; and maternal grandparents, Woodward A. and Jewell M. Reusch.
Following cremation, Kenneth will be buried at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita. Cremation is under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
