Kenneth I. "Kenny" Newlen, 92, of Parsons died at 4:47 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at his home. He had been in failing health.
He was born December 2, 1922 in Newell, West Virginia to Ebert H. and Twylia (McCoy) Newlen. He grew up and attended schools in Newell graduating from Newell High School in 1940. He worked for the Hancock County Federal Savings and Loan as a custodian for thirty years. Following retirement, he moved to Parsons in 1985 to be near his family.
He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, and attending his grandchildren's activities.
He had been a member of the Chester Christian Church in Chester, West Virginia.
Kenneth and June Pepin were married on December 26, 1942 in Chester, West Virginia. She survives of the home.

Grandchildren and Great–Grandchildren - Mike Elliott and his wife, Ruth, and their daughter Taylor; Kelly Giager and her husband, Mike, and their children, Dylan, Dawson, Lauren, and Lakin; Megan Elliott and companion, Terry Chisom, and their children Elias, Breianna, and Maria.
He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Kenneth will be cremated under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. No services are planned at this time.
