Kevin D. McRay, 53, of Parsons, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Parsons. He was born January 16, 1960 in Parsons, Kansas to Willis Fletcher and Esther Janet "Jan" (Miles) McRay. As a child, he moved around the country with his family and was a 1978 graduate of William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri. In his early 20's, he returned to Parsons where he had lived since. For a time he worked for Power Flame and in 2002 began his employment with Labette County where he was currently employed. He was a former member of Parsons Masonic Lodge No. 117, A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed talking and telling stories, loved guns and spending time with his friends. He never met a stranger and especially enjoyed visiting with people in general. He and Debra G. Johnson were married March 27, 1987. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2002. On July 4, 2010, he and Karen E. Pizzo were married in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Survivors include: Wife – Karen McRay of the home One Son – Jason Tanner Parsons, KS Two Daughters – Janna McRay Boone, IA Stacie Nutter and husband, Bryson Parsons, KS Two Granddaughters – Braylea and Kinsley Nutter Two Brothers – Mark McRay and wife, Angela Smithville, KS Daryl McRay Parsons, KS One Sister – Debby McRay and fiancé, Steve Buske Parsons, KS Several nieces and nephews In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Douglas Lee McRay. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to his great-nephew, baby Abel Blaine McRay, to be used for medical expense.
