Kimberly A. "Kimmy" (Schmitz) Kurtz, 43, of Parsons, passed away at 5:45 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her home.
She was born September 26, 1975 in Parsons, Kansas to James H. "Jim" and Terri L. (Cameron) Schmitz. She grew up in Parsons where she attended Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Parsons High School in 1994. She later attended Pittsburg State University.
For a time, she lived in Lamar, Missouri before returning to Parsons. After returning to Parsons, she worked at Elmhaven Nursing Home, Pizza Hut, the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, and Braum's.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and its bell choir. Kimmy was an avid reader and enjoyed music. She also enjoyed science fiction, especially Star Wars.

One Son – Jacob Ryan Kurtz of the home
Parents – Jim and Terri Schmitz of Parsons, KS
One Brother – Cameron Schmitz of Parsons, KS
One Sister – Kelly Chapman (Frank) of Parsons, KS
Two Nieces – Carollyn Chapman and Andrea Chapman
One Nephew – William Chapman
Maternal Grandmother – Naomi Cameron of Arma, KS
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lavern and Mildred Schmitz; and her maternal grandfather, Tom Cameron.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m., Sunday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
