Kristina L. Byrd

Kristina L. (Kennedy) Byrd, 33, of Parsons, passed away the evening of Friday, October 14, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kristina Lynn Kennedy was born on February 26, 1989, to James Edward Kennedy and Debra Joan Letcher in Fort Scott, Kansas.  As a young girl, she moved with her family to the Labette County area, attending schools in Chetopa, Erie, and Parsons.

Over the years, she was a driver for Renzenberger, worked in the cafeteria at Parsons public schools and most recently worked as an auto parts delivery driver for Napa Auto Parts.

Her greatest joy in life was her children.  They were truly the center of her life and she loved watching them play sports and going fishing and camping with them.  She also liked to go country cruisin'.

In 2008, Kristina and Jon Bartholomew were united in marriage, the couple divorced in 2009.  On November 22, 2010, she and Matthew Byrd were married and had three sons.  The couple divorced in 2016.

Survivors include:

Three sons – Ricky, Allen and Samuel Byrd all of Parsons, Kansas

Her longtime companion – Clint Nibarger and his son, Kolt, of Parsons, Kansas

Her father – James Kennedy of Parsons, Kansas

Her mother – Debbie Landgren of Parsons, Kansas

One brother – Joshua Kennedy of Louisville, Kentucky

One sister – Ashley Kennedy of Parsons, Kansas

The memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service.  Interment of cremains will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg at a later date.
