Larry A. "Cotton" Bateman, 67, of Parsons, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his home.
He was born December 11, 1945, in Eureka, Kansas, to Hugh and Helen (Kirkendall) Bateman. He moved with his family to Oswego where he attended school and was a graduate of Oswego High School. In 1963, he joined the United States Army and served in Panama until his honorable discharge in 1966.
He then returned to Parsons where he worked at IMI Business Forms, Home Lumber and Columbian TecTank for 30 years until retiring.
In younger years, he enjoyed baseball, football and fishing.
He and Sharon Arnold were married in 1963. They divorced in 1965. He and Patty Zinn were married. They later divorced.

Three Grandchildren
One Brother – Richard Bateman and wife, Janie Parsons, KS
One Sister – Helen Giger Chandler, TX
Numerous Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Jack Bateman.
Following cremation, the family will hold private committal services at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
