Larry E. Havens, Sr.

Larry E. Havens, Sr., 57, of Chetopa, Kansas passed away at his home at 2:25 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

He was born February 27, 1960 at Miami, Oklahoma to Gordon Phillip Havens and Verda Mae (Kirk) Havens.  He grew up and attended school in Picher, Oklahoma and graduated from high school there in 1980.  He also lived in the Baxter Springs, Kansas and Jay, Oklahoma areas where he worked various jobs, mainly in Miami and Jay nursing homes.

He enjoyed volunteering as a firefighter  and first responder.  He had attended the Faith Victory Church in Chetopa.

He was married to Bonnie Wood.  She preceded him in death.

Survivors include, one son, Larry Havens, Jr. of Parsons; one daughter, Sharon Haven of Vinita, Oklahoma; one grandson, Charles Raymond Thomas Havens; two sisters Judy Taylor and husband, Luke of Chetopa and Joann Smith and husband, Steve of Reno, Nevada.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Sue.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Faith Victory Church in Chetopa with Rev. Raymond Whetstone officiating.
