Larry Lee Martin, 75, of Parsons, passed away at 3:46 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home.

He was born June 25, 1942 in Carthage, Missouri to Everett Ellis and Eveline Mae (Epperson) Martin. He grew up in Carthage where he attended school and was a 1960 graduate of Carthage High School. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963.

On March 25, 1962, he and Iva Jane Jackson were married in Carthage. For many years, Larry owned and operated a DX station in Carthage. He then worked for Goodyear in Carthage, and later as store manager in Chanute, and Joplin. In the early 1990s, they moved to Jamesport, Missouri where he worked as a broom maker and folk artist. He was an antique dealer and enjoyed fishing and bow hunting.

One Son – Mark Roy Martin and his wife, Rose, of Parsons, KS

One Daughter – Lori Anne Martin of Columbia, MO

Four Grandchildren – Chad Lee Martin, Philip Scott Martin and his wife, Jenni, Sarah Rose Martin, and William Joseph Dessenberger

Four Great-Grandchildren – Bennett, Alexis, Ingram, and Alesa

One Brother – Timothy Martin and his wife, Carol, of Rock Falls, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Lisa Anne Martin, on October 11, 1974.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Private family services will be held at a later date.
