Larry Joe Rowe, 71, of Parsons, died at 9:43 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Labette Health in Parsons. He had been in failing health.
He was born December 27, 1939, in Parsons, Kansas, to James Eugene and Juanita Fay (Manners) Rowe. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a 1957 graduate of Parsons High School.
He and Nancy L. Rhoades were married in 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. Following marriage, he entered the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked at Armco Steel in Houston, Texas. In 1967, the family returned to Parsons where he had lived since. He worked most of his adult life as a carpenter.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Parsons. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Two Daughters – Terri Willis Parsons, KS
Tina Hall Parsons, KS
Three Grandchildren – Crystal Reeves, Michael Olson, Jared Rowe
Six Great-Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Rowe, on November 1, 2006; one son, Tim Rowe, on February 7, 2005; and one brother.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Family and friends will will gather at the family home immediately following the memorial service.
